  • the waiting is over

Well the wait is finally over.  I can not tell you how glad I am for that.  The results of the renal ultrasound and of the 3 blood tests they did in the past 2 weeks is finally in.  For the most part they are within normal range, the exception being that the sed rate is elevated.  Because my arthritis is osteo and not rheumatoid, it should not be elevated.  What is the doctor prescribing?  No more Celebrex   and as a replacement drug??? Tylenol! I said that will never work, he said "sorry"!

Today is my day off with baby girl.  Can not tell you what a sweetheart that little girl is.  I love being with her everyday despite the fact that it is difficult without the Celebrex.  I think I will try some of those joint meds OTC.   I need to find something that will allow me to at least move around without constant pain.  We took a walk yesterday (like we do everyday) and I was not sure I was going to make it back.

Because we are greeters at church tomorrow night, Will is not going to Josh's to help with the house.  They finished the insulation last week and then the sheetrockers came this week and are taping today.  Josh is putting the siding on the outside.  The church is having a work day to help him finish up the siding on Saturday.     What a blessing.    Needless to say, I am elated that Will is going to be home this weekend.  That sounds kinda selfish, huh?

       Have a wonderful weekend........I know I will.

One of my BFF's, who is a retired nurse says to try over the counter Glucosamine (sp?). She and I both have Osteoarthritis and Tylenol doesn't so squat to help. The Glucosamine is all natural and really seems to help. Good luck finding something that works for you. Hugs

Bless your heart! Why won't they give you something else for the pain? That's crazy!
So glad you and Will get to spend the weekend together!

Tylenol doesn't fix pain for me either. I would have thought an anti-inflammatory would be better, but...I also think your own body tells you what works best. Hope you can find it. The fungal meningitis scares me too. What if that would happen to flu shot makers etc.? Just makes me nervous. Glad you had Wil home and no that's not selfish.

What is the reason that he said no more Celebrex?  Just because of the type of arthritis it is?  I don't know a whole lot (well-basically I know nothing) about arthritis, but it seems that if something was working, why not leave it be?  Although maybe the side effects are a concern.  I have a coworker who uses or used Celebrex but I can't remember her comments about it.

I hope you have a great day!

@cgdp001 - He said he thought it was causing kidney damage.  The tests proved otherwise but he said no more Celebrex.   I am upset because it worked and nothing else did.  We went through these tests a yr. ago and it showed nothing then either but at that time he cut the dose in 1/2.  The other thing that upsets me is that I just got a 90 day supply 2 days before he told me to stop it.   Can you imagine the price of those 2 pills?

@mcbery - I don't know why I even bother taking them.  I keep hoping that they will at least take the edge off.  All anti inflamatory meds have aspirin and he thinks that is causing the problem.  He had the same blood work done 3 x in 2 weeks......Twice in house and once he sent it away.  In house had different readings than the one sent away.  I tend to think maybe in house was wrong, otherwise why would the last one be normal when he sent it away?????
