alone again
Guess that was not entirely true.......Uncle Roy is here with me and so is the dog
William left at 6 this morning to go up and help Josh today and tomorrow. I think he is running himself ragged. He falls asleep just sitting in the chair every night. That is a long haul up and back, especially by himself. He got up early yesterday morning and took Uncle Roy to breakfast, then he went to work for 4 hr. and then came back to take me for a late lunch and to get some groceries. We had a couple of things to get at BJ's and we no more than got in the car after our time there than my back began killing me. He took me home, told me to lie down and he went to get some of the things Uncle Roy and I had on our lists. Is it any wonder I love this man??? He is so unselfish and always does for everyone else first! I am so blessed by him..........38 wonderful years has gone by like a flash. He kissed me good bye this morning and told me not to get up, he would call me when later after I was awake to let me know he arrived safely and check on my back.
I ordered the girls a few things they needed for Friday school. Papa took one of the orders up with him this morning. It was very strange. I ordered something from Lands End first and although they shipped it later than JCP, it got here on Sat. The other order should be here on Tuesday. They are homeschooled but attend a Friday school through the church for the extras such as PE, drama, choir, band, art, etc. Joshua was part of the same program when he was homeschooled. I love it that they are homeschooling the girls. Homeschooling would not work for the Matt or my NC grands. Those three are doing well in public school. Matthew will be going back to school on Tuesday. Late on Friday afternoon, Tom took Matthew up to camp with him. Susan left around the same time for the tournament in NYC with the roller derby team. There was a lot of competition and they won at least one if I am reading FB right.
Tomorrow is Uncle Roy's birthday (that yr. certainly flew by). His son usually drives him to lunch on Sunday afternoon. Today, when Uncle Roy went to pay for lunch, his son said it was his treat for Uncle Roy's birthday. When he came home, Uncle Roy said if he had known his son was buying, he would have had more than just a bowl of grits

As I thought about this weekend I had purposed in my mind to get some of the things done I had been wanting to finish up for a while. Well, today is over and I didn't really accomplish much. I did rest with the heating pad on my back for a while, does that count????

Tomorrow when Will gets home, Susan, Tom and Matt will come over so we can celebrate Uncle Roys birthday. I got a 3 layer carrot cake at the bakery at BJ's when we were there yesterday. Susan's birthday was on Friday but because she was leaving for NYC, we celebrated by going out to dinner on Wednesday night. Our favorite resturant is running a special with 5 three course entrees for only $12 each. The dessert was a mini sundae. The choices were hot fudge, key lime or caramel apple........Susan gave Matthew her hot fudge sundae and he was delighted. "This is the first time I have ever had a sundae and I love it!!!!"

Well, maybe tomorrow my back will feel like actually getting something done other than reading! Trust you are all enjoying your long weekend and that you are all more productive than I seem to be. I don't understand this back pain.....it is not where I broke my back but lower and into my hip. Very curious..........
Josh's house in the woods is coming along nicely

Sorry about you back. I'd say that taking care of it should be first on your list of things to do. If I could raise my kids again, I would definitely homeschool. Sorry to say none of my grandkids are being homeschooled, at least not so far.
Hope your back feels better soon!! Enjoy the rest of your weekend.....
hope your back feels better. the house looks awesome!--karen
The house looks great! No wonder you love Will so much!! I really think men like that are rare. You are so blessed. Happy Birthday to Uncle Roy! I hope your back gets better.
Happy Happy Birthday to Uncle Roy. And thats funny about him ordering his bowl of grits and would have gotten more. You have to chuckle about that one.
Taking care of yourself **DOES** count for getting something accomplished.
As bad as it seems with your hubby being gone, just think......he is closer to having it done and not having to go back
He sounds so similar to my Mountain Man. Gives wholeheartedly and unselfishly. We need more men like that today.
Take care of yourself!
That is funny, about the grits. Next time maybe he'll order steak and then no one will pay!
Hope your back pain goes away. Not fun! Hope you have a nice birthday party for Uncle Roy too.
@victoriantomboy - I know, and I am actually glad he is helping Josh. I am also selfish and want him home with me too. I can't have it both ways and Will has a need to keep busy. That is why he has retired from 2 jobs and still works a 40 hr. week
I wouldn't have him any other way!
@mcbery - Uncle Roy would never order a steak. When I have steak for dinner he eats about 2 bites and gives his portion to the dog!
@susanscorner - Thanks, I am blessed. I thank God everyday for allowing me to have Wm. in my life.
@lifeontheWink - thanks I think the house is going to be exactly what they want. I would love to live in the woods with no close neighbors.
@atticusfin - thanks, you too
@ata_grandma - We had 3 children. We only homeschooled Joshua. Susan and Jon Christian thrived at public school. Joshua did not, he was always running away from school. We prayed about what to do and our answer seemed to be homeschooling. Josh went on to go to Bible college and was involved with a youth ministry in Tyler Texas for a while. I really believe that homeschooling is great but not if the kids are not for it. Susan always said, you can make me stay home but you can't make me like it. We always prayed about it before every new shcool year and always expected Josh would finally go back to public school. He never wanted to.
@oldfatgramma - oh yeah, I TRULY understand what you mean about being selfish and wanting them home with you. Boy, do I! I actually use to cause problems by NOT letting him get out and do things when we first got married. I was more jealous tho than anything. But I was so selfish then. Glad I got over that!!! Bet he is too! lol Now I encourage him to go. He has the need to be busy also, but as of late, he has been so tired, which worries me.
When ya love `em so much, you cant help but want them by your side!
@victoriantomboy - AMEN
Love how the house is turning out! Hope your back gets better!!
Mm....If I were you, I would have chosen the key lime flavor!
The house in the woods looks great :)
@cgdp001 - Thanks. I did get the key lime one. The other's got the hot fudge and Matt ate his mother's.
